We already covered the trending hot topic about the new Google logo in a previous article. The internet was booming with the anticipation that Google was up to something new with their branding and it turned out to be true. Recently they launched their new logo and although I personally liked the new look and direction Google has taken, it seems that professional designers do not feel the same way. There are designers’ controversial comments regarding the new Google logo all over the internet.
Google has left the old Serif fonts and taken up a new approach. Google has kept the old color scheme and showed us that it is still the old Google that we love. The logo is designed in such a manner that it appears perfect no matter the screen size you view it on. It will look exactly the same on a small phone screen and a huge 4K display. Martyn Hayes, from Elmwood says that Google seems to be following the footsteps of Microsoft and that he is not completely sold by the new Google logo. He says that it is sad that the old style of the brand logo is gone. This controversial comment regarding the new Google has spread all over the internet.
Hayes is not the only designer who has published controversial comments about the New Google Logo. If you search the internet you will find tons of designers that are commenting about the new look. Most of the responses by people are positive but we all know that it only takes one comment by an influential person to make or break a brand and its image. Designers’ controversial comments regarding the new Google logo have different angles and some are positive while others are negative. Google of course cannot please everyone with a single design. That is impossible even for a company as huge as Google.
