Its official, the 2020 Olympics logo that was created by designer Kenjiro Sano has been trashed and the plug has been pulled. The internet was exploding with people talking about the resemblance between the 2020 Olympics logo made by Sano and the emblem design of Théâtre de Liègea located in Belgium.
Although this created a roar on the internet the designer refused to accept the fact that he plagiarized the logo design. It does not take a graphic designer or a professional digital artist to tell when a logo is copied and when not. When both logos were placed side by side the similarity was clear and unmistakable. Though Sano tried his best to defend his design his claim did him no good and he has been sacked from the project.
When the organizers felt the heat they pulled the plug on Sano and now the logo is no more. Let’s see where the next Olympics logo comes from and more importantly how it will look like. There is no arguing that these series of events will affect the career of the designer Kenjiro Sano but it could also affect the progress of the Olympics. Wherever in the process they were, now they will have to start from scratch. They are definitely back to square one.
